on How do i disclude inactive resources in a project costing repo

I currently have projects on project server who have teams of people built in
as resources. When I run a report in resource usgae view it is picking up
costs from other projects that the resource is used in. How do I just get
the costs for the reosurce in the one project only

One really easy way to do this is to check the box on the login screen that
is called "Connecting across a WAN" in P2K3 and "Load summary resource
assignments" in P2K3SP1.

Hi Reid,
I am only in the learning stages of project and also project server so I am
not really sure what you have said. Can you explain it in a simpler way
please.
Thanks
Sally

When you start Microsoft Project Professional, you may see a dialog box
called Project Server Accounts. This dialog box includes the checkbox I
referenced in my reply.

If you don't see the dialog box, then you are set up to automatically
connect to the server, and you will need to change this setting to manual.
To do that, start Project and select Tools > Enterprise Options > Microsoft
Office Project Server Accounts. Click the radio button to "Manually control
connection state." Click OK. Restart Project.

Further, if you're with BP Amoco, you might check with your IT Dept in
Houston, who have some expertise in Project Server. If you're with
BearingPoint, you could consult with the Project Server practice.

Hi Mike,

I have ticked the box that you refer to but nothing changes. I still get
all costs for each resource being displayed and calculated on the resource
usage page.

Any other ideas?

Sally

Perhaps you are opening more than one project? Even with the box checked,
the view will display data for all open projects.

Ah, I see...

Great solution, Gary!

Thanks for the kind words, my friend, but the credit should go to eDALE!
