On how many PCs can I install my OneNote

I was lead to believe that I could install OneNote like the other
office products. However, when I went to install OneNote on my main PC
after I installed it on my tablet, a box came up and said I couldn't
install it.

Chris H. (Microsoft Windows MVP/Tablet PC) on the TabletPC board says
that I should be able to install it liek the Office Suite. The end
user agreement states on only one PC.

Anybody know? It sure would be nice if I could have it on both my main
PC and my mobile tablet.

Thanks

I'll defer to others to give you an "official" answer here, but you may want
to open OneNote, go to Help/About Microsoft OneNote, then tap the little
link to "View the End-User License Agreement."
It says:
=====
1.1 Installation and use. You may:
(a) install and use a copy of the Software on one personal computer or
other device; and
(b) install an additional copy of the Software on a second, portable device
for the exclusive use of the primary user of the first copy of the Software.

What version are you running? This is directly from my OneNote SP1 install
on this Tablet PC. Do you have an OEM version supplied by the maker of your
computer?

I think it is an OEM version. It came with my tablet. I'd like to be
able to load it on my other computer as I bounce between the two. I
just know that I wasn't able to load it and my license doesn't have the
wording you posted.

Is it common for OEM versions to be limited like this in regards to MS
products?

The OEM version is probably locked to your single system. Did they furnish
you a separate CD, or is it part of the OEM programs recovery CD/DVD?

The OEM license is different from the one for the product you purchased
standalone. Although I am not a licensing specialist, effectively the copy
you have was purchased by the computer manufacturer to provide as additional
value for you - another reason to purchase the computer from them. As such,
OEM versions are locked to the computer they came on - this is one reason
they can be offered so inexpensively as additional value. The product CD is
provided so that you can reinstall the software if necessary on the machine
you purchased, not on an addiitonal machine.
