On-line assessment tool

Hi all

Can anybody give me any urgent advice????

I am an IT Trainer for a large company and run courses on Microsoft
applications, Word, Excel etc. At the moment, our method of assessing
potential delegates is asking them to complete a Training Needs Analysis
form, which is basically a 'tick sheet' listing the functions of Word, Excel
etc and they have to give a score to each function. I then decide what level
of training they require, depending on their results.

I have been asked to find an on-line assessment tool, rather than
form-based. The aim is to use a piece of software that will 'ask' the
delegates questions but on a live environment of the specific application.
In other words, they can open this software, an application of Word will
appear on the screen and it will ask questions which they have to physically
do, in the live version of Word, so it is more 'hands on' than simply
completing a form. Once the assessment is finished, I can decide what level
of training course they need, in accordance with their results. (If anybody
has sat any MOS exams or completed the practice ones, this is the kind of
thing I am looking for).

I have been trying to find a piece of software like this for weeks and have
had no success. The pressure is now on for me to complete this project.

Does anybody know of any companies who offer this facility???

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

BTL e-learning(www.btl.com) has a desktop simulation in flash. It provides
training and assessment of all ofice programs. You don't need the actual
applications, the tool can be run in any browser over the internet too.
