ON Output and Functionality

Tried to post this just a min ago and got booted. I am a detective and we
handle anywhere from 40-60 cases at a time. I am not currently using ON, but
I believe I may have our division go to it if it functions as well for us as
it appears it will. I need to know possible ON Outputs. For example, if we
keep our folders for each case, which will contain written reports,
statements, video files of interviews and audio files of phone calls. Our
district attorney will call and want a copy of our case files. Will ON copy
EVERYTHING in the notebook or folder to a cd/dvd or will we have to go to the
other software (like windows media) to copy the audio and video files over.

Also, I am considering purchasing a scansnap s550 scanner, which copies
everything into searchable PDF format. Should I save these files into ON or
save them on the computer and then "print" them into ON?

And last but not least we need to track when the last time a case was
followed up or contact was made with someone involving a case. Is there a
way to stime/date stamp individual notes/items when they are added to a page
other than the time and date on the top of the page. (or does that time and
date change everytime the page is accessed?) The timline issues my require
us to just use the outlook interface!!

Thanks for any help or advice that you can give an investigator with
information overload !!

If the audio/video and other files are embedded in ON, copying the whole
notebook will include everything.
Naturally it's different if files are only linked.

In order to make use if the notebook, the district attorney will need to
have ON too.

As you mention interviews:
ON is fantastic instrument for audio input. It's the only tool which
works with "bookmarks" for audio-files. One cab directly jump to any
marked position. This works with imported too

I have not used scanning so far with ON.
You'd just have try out which way provides better output.

One easily insert a date/time-stamp *everywhere* with a shortcut
key-combination (Alt+Shift+F), from the menu and an icon in the
icon-bar.
These time-stamps are static, they do not change when a page is opened.
The pages date/time-stamp in the tip of a page is static to but it can
be changed when needed.

I hope that this might be if help for decision making.
From your description of the needs, with my background as a former
lawyer and retired professor of laws I think that OneNote would be a
superb instrument for you.

If any further question, pls ask.
