On Screen Display problems for multiple PP

I have a dual monitor and even if I didn't I have a 20 screen and I would
like to bring up two different PP presentations to view side by side. When I
open the first, and then try and open a second, it overwrites the first. I
can only view one at a time. So I tried Arrange all, split, etc. and I
could get the two up side by side, but then I am working with smaller field
of view. I am trying to match stuff up and shuffle things back and forth
between two or three PP. I would like to be able to view two full PP side by
side. I do this all the time with Publisher and Word - and used to be able
to do it with PP. Using XP and PP 2007.

If you open your presentations then click on View, Arrange All, then click on slide sorter view, you can move stuff back and forth as much as you want.

I can do that. In the confines of one PP program running. On my screen, I
can see two distinct windows each different PP taking up one half of the
display. I can't slide one of them over to my dual screen so I can see two
full versions. When I run Publisher for example, or Word, I can reopen,
completely, the entire program a second time. In other words, I can't run
two PP programs at once? Nor with the Arrange all, can I move one
presentation to my second screen. I used to be able to do that with PP 2003

Unfortunately, PowerPoint AFAIK has always been a one instance program.
