I have used Excel since it first came out. With the current version ('08) I have Excel startup automatically and search for a file that has probably since long been gone.
How do I end this on startup? I have no idea what the file is that is being searched for.

You will need to provide the exact error message text for us to help. Also,
check in Excel preferences, General tab, and make sure the Open al files at
startup is blank.
