On startup of Word, always get a prompt to dial to internet?

Every time I start Word, I get a prompt to dial up to the
internet. I run Windows 98 and have unchecked the
automatic updates in Word. What next?

Hi Brian,

Remove any templates that are located in the Word\Startup directory and
rename the normal.dot template to normal.old and then re-start Word and see
if it still happens.
