ON07 Tables and Formatting

B

Bruce

While I find the added formatting features in OneNote 2007 to be far better
than in the previous version, I am still somewhat disappointed. A few
specific examples:
-I would have expected that most all formatting would have followed the
styles, menuing and techniques used in other Office programs (notably Word).
-Table cell formatting is not rich (shading, borders, etc)
-Drawing tools are simple (although I really like the thinking behind the
graph tool)
-No ability to align or group objects (like in Word or PowerPoint or Visio)

ON is now the 2nd most used program on my computer (behind Outlook) so I'm
looking for every opportunity to make it more functional. Hopethis feedback
is helpful.

Hi Bruce,

OneNote is not designed for rich formatting. It is rather geared towards
note taking. Microsoft therefore only offers a subset of what programs
designed for rich formatting (Word, Excel, PPT) provide.
If you need rich formatting, you need to use one of those programs. If
you need the ability to quickly and easily take notes, organize
information and such tasks, OneNote is your best friend. If you need
rich formatting capabilities, you'd have to get the OneNote content into
Word, Excel, PPT and do the formatting there.
