One alert for all web parts in a workspace?

This is more a Sharepoint question than Project Server, however:

Let's say I have 5 document libraries, 3 web parts and a few lists. Rather
than making my users set an alert for each web part individually, is there
any way to subscribe to the entire workspace en masse? That is, any change in
any aera on the workspace triggers the same alert.

I don't believe that is possible without the use of custom code or messing
with the production database. I suspect that the custom code wouldn't be
too hard though.
