One day tasks schedules over 2 days

Jmalenfant

I have a task that its duration is 1 day.

I want it to begin on May 8th and finish on May 8th, but when I type in the
info it forces it to finish a day late (May 9th).

This messes up all the tasks after it, pushing all of them a day later than
they are due.

HELP!!!!

Hello,

In your calendar, 8th may is not a nonworking day like in France?

Unfortunately it's not that simple (I wish). It is scheduled as a working day.

For the duration try 8h or 7h, instead of 1d to see when you get it done on 5/8
What about your associated resouce is it available 8h per day?

THanks!! Changing duration to 8 hrs worked.
The weird thing is it only worked for one resource and not the others??
Anyways After that , to line up other resources I had to put a constraint on
the finish day to finish no later than may 8th.
(I was trying to avoid using constraints as I'm using the 'priority numbers'
as a way to level it all, and constraints can make everything go to cr%^*p
sometimes.
But for now, problem solved, so Thanks!

Hi,

Project does not work in days, but in minutes.
Go to tools, options, view, and select the upmost date format (the one with
1:33 in it)
Now watch the start and finish.
Does the task start at begining of day according to your working time
calendar?
Does it take exactly a day, in other words, is the time of day in finish
equal to time of day n start?

If the answer on any of these is no, you should read faq 5 in
http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm
