Hi everyone,
We are developing a managed COM Add-In for Outlook 2003 and Outlook XP. We
would like to provide our clients with a single executable to install our
Add-In, so I am planning to write a small C++ program that checks the
registry for the Office version and launches the appropriate installer (MSI).
The two MSI installers and the small loader would be distributed in a
self-extracting zip file in this scenario.
Can anyone see any pitfalls ahead using this approach? Is there a better one
that doesn't sacrifice the single executable?
Thanks,
Aaron Olson
