One Note as a daily dairy

Have you looked at the OneNote Daily Journal PowerToy? Checkout
http://www.onenoteblog.com/2007/05/01/daily-journal-powertoy/ for
information. I use it daily in my Pastoral Ministry.

I initially had some problems because I did not have the Net 1.1 framework
installed. Another thing to note, according to what I've read the journal
has to be in your first open notebook. Haven't verified this since my first
notebook has always been my Personal notebook. I simply created a section
group in my Personal notebook called Journal and created a section within
the group called 2008. Now anytime I want to make a journal entry I simply
hit the windows key plus the J key and it opens OneNote to my Journal and
adds a tab with today's date and I just start typing. Has served me well so
far. Hope this helps.

I have been using OneNote and the Daily Journal PowerToy for exactly that for
about a year. It was invaluable when I went to my performance review.

I am interested in using this powertoy, but it does not seem to be
available anymore from this website? Does anyone know where I can
find it?

I've tried several times since yesterday and today to send a reply with the
OneNote Daily Journal Powertoy installer attached but the post never shows
up even though indications here is that they were sent. Contact me by email
at (e-mail address removed) and I'll try to email you the installer.

Is OneNote a good tool for use a daily dairy or journal for work enviroment?

As you can see you have to go through a bit of trouble to install a Power
Toy add-on (looks like there was some problem finding/downloading it, but I
got it earlier this year), then you configure it and it works okay with some
limitations.

I was disappointed to see--even in OneNote 2007--diary/journal creation
seems to be treated as an afterthought instead of being integrated and fully
functional out-of-the-box. Some users (obviously not all) will consider
diary/journal as a primary motivation to get started with an information
organizer and will gradually learn other functionality only after they become
attached/comfortable with a particular product. If initial setup/use is
troublesome, some may decide to try another product.

This could be another reason OneNote is slow to catch on.
