One Note for kids

Has anyone had any experience with middle schoolers and high
schoolers using One Note for general classroom note-taking?
Also, does anyone have any experience or information comparing
One Note to similar Apple note-taking products? I am looking
to find a user friendly note-taking program for a 14-year-old
boy.

I know a couple of 14 and 16 year olds who are using OneNote and find
it effective.

Individuals vary a lot in their preferences for software. There is a
trial OneNote download at
http://www.microsoft.com/office/onenote/prodinfo/trial.mspx. It is the
original release and doesn't have the newer features added in SP1.

I don't have any comparitive information re the Apple product(s) you
hint at.

I am informed that despite the May 2004 date on the URL (which led me
to believe it was the original release) the trial download file itself
is OneNote SP1.
