One Note Icon does not show in notifications area of taskbar?

How do you keep the icon in the notifications taskbar?

I'm having trouble with this. The icon won't show in the notifications and I
need it to do my screen selections. I tried using "always show" in the
notifications properties but it still won't show. It seems to display
whenever it wants. Sometimes it will load when I open One Note and other
times it won't display either way...

By the way, I already have configured OneNote in Tools/Options/Other and
checked
"Place OneNote icon in the notification area of the taskbar"

It still won't show. Could there be some other setting blocking it?

If you uncheck it, restart OneNote, then check it and restart OneNote again
does the problem persist?

Do you have SP1 installed for OneNote.

I am having the same problem. I have OneNote SP2. If I go to Options untick
the notification in the taskbar area box, click ok, then go back and tick the
same box, the icon appears in the area but only until for the current session
of windows. When I start up the computer again it's gone though the option
box remains ticked.

Experience exactly the same problem: have OneNote SP2 installed.
