One Page Report Previews as Many

I have one report on one machine running MS Access 2003 where a one
page report, that prints as one page when actually sent to a printer,
previews as a multiple page report with only a few words on each page.
OS is XP Pro. Database is networked. Other similarly configured
computers on the network preview this report properly. (Note also that
when I try to change the page size of the report, my selection does not
stick on the computer exhibiting this problem though I can change
landscape/portrait orientation.) I tried to repair the Office
installation on the affected machine but this did not help.

Any ideas?

I'm an Access amature, but...

Have checked the printer settings? Specifically, setting
the report's Page Setup | Page | Printer for [your rpt name
here] to a single, particular printer? (That way, you can
force the report to a certain printer every time)

Check that setting on all of the computers that might print
that form, *and* check the Windows setting for default
printer. I *think* that if the rpt doesn't specify any
certain printer, then the Windows Default comes into play.
The safest bet for proper printing is to set the report to
use one, specific printer (as long as all the machines that
need to print this report have that printer available to
them).

I'd imagine that printer drivers could come into play here
as well. Perhaps not all the machines have the same version
of the printer drivers loaded. With Windows, who knows?

If all that checks out, and no joy, you'll have to wait for
someone with actual brains to chip in.

Good luck!

How did you create the report? With the wizard or manually?

It was created quite some time ago so I'm not sure. If I used the
wizard, it was just to get going, and then I edited whatever the wizard
produced. However when I produced it, I'm pretty sure it previewed
normally.

I left out an important detail. The people for whom I did this recently
moved their operation to a new location. Everything involved was
moved, server, workstaions, printers. I'm sure the people who did the
moving tried to reconnect everything as it was, but maybe there is
something different about the configuration after the move.

I know what your problem is. When the report was created it was created for
a specifit printer (HP, CANNON, etc.) where the database and report was
created. It is possible that the Report had to be printed on a specific
printer.

You said everyone prints the report fine. However, when you print on your
machine it come out wrong. To test this out. Make a copy of the .mdb file
to you computer and with the report in design view and goto the menu bar and
select File-Page Setup. A Page Setup form will popup and select the Page Tab.
At the bottom make sure the Default Printer is Selected. This will
reconfigure the report to your machines printer.
