one page template that's printing on two pages

I built myself a one page template that contains everything I need but
somehow, it keeps printing on to two pages...the second page is of course
blank! I'm used to working in Word (I thought) but am not sure how to make
this document just one page.

Some guidance will be much appeciated!

Hello Smitty,
go to print preview----click---Page setup----Choose---Fit to 1 page wide to
1 page tall.
then click ok, et voila!
