one project 2 resource sheets

I have one project file that I'm using to report a task to two different legs of the organization (the IT and the ENG). The problem is each organization group their resources differently. Reconciliation fo the resource sheets are not an option, tried.

Other than keeping two project files one with each resource sheets, what else can I do?

Hi,

This is where a Project Office is useful: it forces naming standards and
hierarchies that make this sort of reporting much easier.

You have two choices:
1) create 2 plans as you suggest
2) In the Resource Sheet insert the column Text1
Enter resource names for IT
Insert column Text2
Enter names for ENG
Select either column name then copy and paste over Name column and report.

Now you can swap names easily. BTW the best naming convention is the one
used by your email system. This guarantees a unique name for everyone and a
format readily recognisable and usable by everyone.

I would use the 'group' field in the res sheet or add a custom field
(whatever) and store the org there but still have one res sheet.
