One Shape Affects Another

P

Pete

I have created a shape with a custom property and a hyperlink. When I
place the shape on a page it prompts me for a value of the custom
property. That custom property value is then supplied as the value of
the hyperlink. This way I can create shapes which hyperlink to other
pages in the Visio document by typing the name of the page I want that
shape to link to. Here is my dillema: I want to create a shape that
will supply the value for me when I select it. In other words the
ideal situation would work as follows:
I have 2 shapes A and B on the first page. On the second page I have
just one of my smart shapes. On the third page there is a large letter
A and on the fourth page there is a large letter B. I want to make it
so that when I click the A or B shape on the first page it sets the
value of the custom property of my smart shape on the second page. The
A and B shapes would also hyperlink to the second page. When I get to
the second page the smart shape knows what shape I clicked on the first
page and thus when I click it, it will hyper link to the third or
fourth page based on which button I clicked on the first page.

I am sorry for such a wordy description of my problem but I have
searched all over the web in an attempt to solve this problem. I need
help.

Thank You.
