One user can not see any projects in MS Project

One user can not see any projects in the Open From Microsoft Office Project
Server window when he chooses

He did not get any errors when he launched MS Project and Connected to the
Server.

He set up another connection and still does not see any Projects.

He can see Projects in PWA

A user in the same area (office) was able to see projects and I am able to
see projects.

Is this user a member of any Groups in which the Open Project permission is
set to Deny? The reason I ask this is because security permissions are
cumulative across all of the Groups in which a user is a member, and because
the Deny permission supercedes both the Allowed and Not Allowed permissions.
To determine this, do the following:

1. Log into PWA with administrator permissions
2. Click Admin - Manage users and groups
3. Select the user in question and click the Modify User button
4. Write down the Groups in which this user is a member and click the
Cancel button
5. Click the Groups link in the sidepane
6. Select the first Group in which this user is a member and then click the
Modify Group button
7. In the Categories section, select the first Category included in this
Group
8. In the Permissions grid of the Categories section, make sure that the
Open Project permission is set to Allow or Not Allowed (neither Allow or
Deny is checked) and if it is set to Deny, deselect the Deny checkbox
9. Select each of the Categories in the Group and repeat step #8
10. Click the Save Changes button
11. Repeat steps #6-10 for each Group in which the user is a member

Hope this helps.

Dale-
I checked the groups (he is only a memeber of one), then I check the
categories for that group. For each category, neither the Allow or Deny
checkboxes were checked on the Open Project.

Any second thoughts?

Well, the fact that neither Allow or Deny is checked for the Open Project
permission is the source of your problem. The Open Project permissions
specifically controls whether someone can see and open the project in
Microsoft Project Professional. Unless you have edited the default Groups
in Project Server, you could simply add this user to the Project Managers
group, which will solve the problem. Otherwise, select the Group in which
the user is already a member, in that Group select the relevant Category,
and then set the Open Project and Save Project permissions to Allow. Hope
this helps.

Dale,
You're a life saver....I hope to meet you some day!

I just added him to the Project Manager group (he should have been there
anyway).

We have too many Administrators and I'm the only Indian!

If you are attending the Project Conference in Seattle next week, I will be
there. If not, maybe someday somehow somewhere. Thanks for the kind
compliment! You are more than welcome for the help. :)
