One user can't send or reply in Outlook....

John Vighetto

Hello everyone,

I have a client that has SBS 2003 standard installed with half of the
users with Win2K Pro workstations and the rest have XP Pro workstations. I
have one of the Win2K Pro workstations that is able to receive his email,
but can't reply to it, or even send any email out. When I tried to delete
his account under the Mail setting in Control Panel, I received this error
message: You cannot delete the account containing your mail, contacts, and
calendar. You will first need to create a new location for your personal
data. From the menu, click Data File Management, and then click Add.
OK, I admit it, I'm dense. Now, which File menu? Help!

Regards,
John V.

Is this shop using Exchange or an ISP for mail? If Exchange, try a new mail
profile under Control Panel->Mail Icon. YOu also need to post the version
of Outlook the user is using.

It almost sounds like this user has the account authentication settings
messed up. What do you show under the account properties for the outgoing
server?

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.

After searching google.groups.com and finding no answer, John Vighetto
