hi,

we are currently using 32 seats of onenote 2003 - we are upgrading to 2007
but only on 10 seats.

are there any compatibility issues re: sharing pages, data etc between 2003
& 2007?

thanks

Yes, there are. OneNote 2003 will be unable to open sections created
with OneNote 2007. OneNote 2007 will be able to view sections created
with OneNote 2003, but requires that the sections be upgraded to the
2007 format to make them editable, which will make them unreadable by
OneNote 2003. In order to share data between the two, you'd need to save
to a common format, such as .doc or MHT.

Is there any compatibility ad-in that could be used like in MS Word 2003? I
have added an adin to the office 2003 and thus word and excel can read and
open the 2007 formats. Can't we do the same for OneNote?

The problem i have is also with the trial version of 2007. any file that i
print to onenote even when i select onenote 2003 it is printed to 2007 trail
version. I copied some of the documents to the 2003 My Notebook folder but i
can't access them in 2003. That is a problem as the trail versions duration
is soon to end.

I badly need some of those files. Help plz

Thanks,

No, there's no converter and no tool for reading ON 2007 files under ON
2003.
Using ON 2003 files under ON 2007 causes the automatic conversion and
that's a one-way-street.

AFAICS you'd have to uninstall ON 2007 and then print the files to ON
2003 again.
The other option would be to just buy a licence for ON 2007 and use that
throughout. ON 2007 has to offer really far far more. And therefore IMHO
he who still uses ON 2003 instead of the new version punishes himself by
the day and the hour.

I'll second Rainald's recommendation re: upgrading to the 2007
version. It's WELL worth the nominal cost to upgrade, considering the
new features in the updated version. Details of the new features are
on the http://office.microsoft.com website under OneNote.

Once you fully move up to the new version you won't miss the old
version. =I= certainly don't.
