I know this has been coverred before.

I ahve a user who is trying to isntall OneNote 2003 on his acer laptop
with Windows XP Home Edition. He has Internet Explorer 6.0 SP2
installed. He is getting the mesage "Microsoft Office OneNote Setup
cannot continue because the installation source has been corrupted."
after he puts in the CD Key. I have tried myself with no success. I
have also attempted solvign the problem using a knowledge base article
(http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;820930&Product=off2003)
to no avail. The only thing I cant seem to do is reinstall Internet
Explorer, as its not in the list for add remove programs, and if I try
to simply reinstall it, it says its already installed rather then
giving me the option to repair.

I'm assuming this is because its XP Home.

Any ideas?

Well, I cant readily format and reinstall his entire laptop, as its a
pretty new laptop as it is, but he has lots of important data on it,
and theres just no time to do that. I really should not surprised that
MS would allow such a shotty product to be released.

Oh well, back to the drawing board. Thanks anyways.
