Can someone help me? : (

I am trying to Update my OneNote 2003 Software, but I can't, because I don't
have the required CDs...

OneNote was installed when I purchased my Tablet PC.
Averatec says that they are not responsible.
If I want to update they said I would have to buy an original copy...Thats
BullSheet!!

I have a Product Key. I just don't have the CD info/data that the update
installation program wants.

Can Someone please help out.

Alexis, go into Windows Explorer and look around for the installed files.
There generally is a folder for "add-ons" on similar. Depending on the
software furnished with your Tablet PC, it also may be on a CD or DVD as
additional software. This Knowledge Base article may also be helpful to you

Hey - I am in the same situation. here's what Averatec
just told me. This actually makes sense: You have a
product key for One-Note that you received with your
laptop. Go on the microsoft website and download a trial
version of One-Note and activate it using the product key
you have wth your computer. Then you should be able to
update.

From http://www.microsoft.com/office/onenote/prodinfo/faq.mspx :
If your copy of OneNote 2003 came preinstalled on a new computer, you should
be able to reinstall OneNote 2003 from the recovery CD or media that came
with your computer. Please follow the instructions on your recovery CD or
media to reinstall OneNote 2003.

Or, If you have lost your OneNote product CD, please contact Microsoft Help
and Support and provide proof of purchase to obtain another product CD.

You may have a product ID number in the documentation which came with your
Tablet PC, or it may be on the bottom of the Tablet on a separate label. If
the OEM installed a 60-day trial version, you will need to purchase the full
product.

I too am in the same boat. The "product CD" that came with my Toshiba P30 is
just an image. I put it in the CD Rom drive, reboot and the CD re-images the
HD...overwritting everything that I have already installed, not giving me any
choices as to what to install or recover. So unfortunately no, I cannot
install from the recovery CD.

So may I reiterate the question. I have a active product key from
Microsoft. Can I DL the trial and then activate it with my product key? Or
is there anyway/anywhere that I can obtain a copy of Onenote online to
install and activate.

Try re-installing Microsoft Office OneNote from the Toshiba Recovery DVD.
OneNote is present on a later release of this DVD, but not on the first
release (TK137/CL1698-1).
If Microsoft Office OneNote is not present on the Toshiba Recovery DVD, then
follow these steps to resolve the problem:
1. Locate the Microsoft Office OneNote Product Key, on the Certificate of
Authenticity which is provided with your computer.
2. Un-install Microsoft OneNote, through the Add/Remove Programs applet in
the Windows Control Panel (Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove
Programs).
3. Download the Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 Trial from the Microsoft
website:
https://microsoft.order-4.com/onenotedl/welcome.asp?id=front
4. Install the OneNote 2003 Trial, using the Product Key from the
Certificate of Authenticity located in step 1, rather than the Product Key
provided on the Microsoft website. The Toshiba-supplied Product Key will
unlock the full version of OneNote that the Trial version is a part of.
Additional information can be found in Microsoft Knowledge Base article
