OneNote 2007 (Beta) on a PDA

R

Richard Stroud

I have just installed this piece of software on my PDA (KJam running Win
Mobile v5.0). The demo file says, "You can also synchronise your OneNote
Mobile notes with your Microsoft Office OneNote 2007 (Beta) notebook! Visit
http://office.microsoft.com for more information."

I've just spent a fruitless hour (or thereabouts) doing exactly that but I'm
no further forward with synchronising the OneNotes on my PDA with my desktop
than when I started.

Can anyone tell me how to achieve this please?

Sorry for the confusion the documentation isn't up on Office Online yet.

For more information about this you can just read this blog post:
http://www.pocketpcthoughts.com/articles.php?action=expand,48979
http://blogs.msdn.com/chris_pratley/archive/2005/11/21/494990.aspx

When you installed this piece of software, what did you install? Once
OneNote Mobile is installed you should be able to view the notes right in
the phone (off the Start button) or in OneNote under the OneNote Mobile
Notes notebook.

Have you turned on the OneNote option in ActiveSync (like the other items).
I didn't have to and have a K-Jam too, but it is a thought. If it is on,
showing the OneNote icon in the AS window, what happens when you sync? do
you get an error? It worked fine for me. I got a new section called OneNote
Mobile Notes with a tab that has Notes from <my device name>. The notes
sync'd fine.

I have a slightly different issue, when I select to install OneNote mobile it
then starts up the ActiveSync Add/Remove Programs box and asks me if I want
to install to the default directory, it then runs through the install and
then prompts to check my device (iMate Jam running Windows mobile 2003 v4.21)
for additional steps. On my device I then get an error saying, "Setup Failed
- the file ....OneNote Mobile [Beta].CAB is not a valid Windows CE setup
file."

Any suggestions on how to get the software installed?

Thanks

Hi Peter,

You won't be able to. OneNote Mobile requires Windows Mobile 5 and
therefore won't work on Windows Mobile 2003.

Sorry,

Aloha Daniel Escapa [MS],

Is that a change? I thought we were only going to see it on WM5?
