OneNote 2007 (Beta) Subdocs and Flags Questions

Rebecca

Greetings. First, can the subdocs in a particular Section be hidden and
unhidden (ala expanding and contracting on a tree done with the click of the
mouse), and second, can the flags be searched according to the particular
type of flag (instead of "Show All Flagged Notes")? I can't find this info
anywhere in the Help file (and I still haven't been able to activate the
product, apparently because the MS site is still swamped with downloads. I'm
worried the product will expire soon -- I have been using it all day because
it's so fantastic!).

And what will happend if there are about 1000 flags (of various types) in a
Section made up of about 1000 pages (as subdocs)? Will this slow down the
computer (with say 1 gig of RAM and an up-do-date processor) to a crawl? The
reason I'm worried about OnNote 2007 limitations is my experience with
MindMapper, which slows down appreciably when there are "too many nodes,"
which renders the program somewhat useless.

I agree that it would be useful to search according to a particular type of
flag rather than them all. especially when you start to have extensive notes.

It would be also useful to have a flag and text search combination, ie items
containing flag a AND text xxxx

Nope.

No, I don't believe so, but that's a good idea. I'll pass it along (though
I know several members of the OneNote team are reading here).

I've never tested it with a notebook that size, but I think you should be
o.k.

I've gotta vote for this feature as well. Once you have a lot of note
flags in a section it will become almost necessary to have some filter
that only shows you those note flags. I know I can create a note flag
summary page then delete all the other sections but that is pretty darned
tedious and it has to be redone by hand every time you make any changes
to the section.
