OneNote 2007 does not respond when copying a file from remote comp

When copying a file from a remote computer over the internet (using a VPN),
One Note would not respond. I could not enter anything in One Note nor did
my existing notes display.

Once the copy was over (which took a half hour), One Note responded
immediately.

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit.

Why does this happen?

What do you mean by "copying"?
Copying files is not an operation for ON.

Do you try to *OPEN* the file in ON?
