OneNote 2007 Mobile & Password Protection

I tried password protecting the section that synchronizes with my Windows
Mobile device, and at the next synchronization the ActiveSync status for
OneNote just indicated "Attention Required" with no additional information.
I disconnected/reconnected the device, and a new (empty) section in the
OneNote Mobile notebook was created. Does the mobile version not support
password protected sections? It'd be astonishingly hard to believe that
something so fundamental would be left out, so does anyone know what I might
be doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for your help.

It should prompt you for the password for the section. Have you tried
unlocking the section and let it sync?

Let me know what you see.

Thanks,

I protected the section with a password, then unlocked it, then plugged in
my device.

It then acted as if it was the 1st time I was going to sync OneNote (the
combine/replace/do not sync selection dialog), and created a new section
containing the data from my smartphone.

In a word, no. You can sync a protected section once it is opened, but
the mobile version will not be protected. This could be a big risk if
you store them on a storage card on the device, since password
protection built into the device will not cover the card.

Next version, maybe?

Well, since this crippled app can't keep its data on the storage card
anyway, that's one risk we don't need to be concerned with.

If OneNote mobile is installed on a storage card it will keep the data
on a storage card... After all, who can afford the memory otherwise? ;)

Onenote mobile is handy, though - I am hoping the next version is even
better after a few tweaks (secured areas, subsections of some kind, ink
support).

Really? I installed it to my storage card, but the data is stored on my
*device* in \Application Data\Microsoft\OneNote Mobile. It created the same
folder on my storage card, but it is empty.
