OneNote 2007 Navigation bar question

Hi,

I am using ON 2003 and thinking of upgrading to ON 2007 and I have a question :

On MS's website at
<http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/onenote/HA102092191033.aspx> there is a
picture that shows the Navigation Bar in both expanded and collapsed mode. It
appears that even in collapsed mode the NB takes up a strip of screen real
estate down the left hand side of the page. I always use ON with my tablet
display in portrait mode and cannot spare any horizontal screen real estate at
all. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to run ON 2007 in such a way that the
NB can be turned off altogether when not in use ?

Many thanks,

Mike Davies

Hi Mike,

No, you cannot turn it off altogether. However, there is a full screen
mode in OneNote 2007 where you all see is one row of toolbar and the
rest of the screen is your page.

Oh, that's bad news it can't be turned off. One of my major uses of ON is to
take notes from my ansaphone messages, I need the page tabs down the right hand
side because I have to keep up with the messages and start new tabs or find old
tabs according to the order people leave messages on my ansaphone. For this
reason I don't really want to be switching screen modes every time I start a new
page tab.

Are there any plans to allow the NB to become a "shootdown" style bar in the
forthcoming SP can anyone say ?

Cheers,

Service Packs are for bug-fixes only. Do not expect any new features or
changes of features. SP1 for OneNote 2003 was an exception that
Microsoft will not repeat.
