Onenote and graphics tablet

Chris

I was thinking of using one note with a graphics tablet to make notes. I use
a pen and paper quite alot and I am looking for a replacement. Is this
possible with normal XP or do I have to have the tablet edition.

Yes. It works great. I have 3 or 4 Graphire tablets and they "write"
on OneNote pages just fine.
If you outline your planned usage I can tell you which one to get.

The graphire3 4x5 is good value, BUT, your writing area is smaller
than the screen so there is "screen writing markup of size" so you
have to write small and that cramped my hand.

I have a graphire4 6x8 which is just the right size. (the bigger ones
are expensive).

The one limitation of writing with a graphics tablet is your writing
is NOT OCR'd, so you can't search on your writing. This is not a big
limitation for me, because I wouldn't trust the OCR'ing anyway.

I'm a programmer, I spend a lot of time jotting things down on A4 paper
sometimes diagrams sometimes notes. The lack of OCR is disappointing but I
think I can live with it. Regards, Chris.

Well I saw a hacked version of Windows XP Tablet PC edition that runs
on desktops.
But you'd have to find it yourself by googling.
