OneNote and Office 2003?

Thomas R. Shannon

I've been using the preview release of 1.1 and I've been impressed. I
recently purchased the academic version of Microsoft Office 2003,
Professional Edition (in March). It doesn't have OneNote. Should I
have it? How do I get it?

Thanks,
Tom S.

OneNote is a separate SKU from Office even though the product os part of
the Office Family of products (i.e. it is always a separate purchase and
you cannot get it bundled with the other flavors of Office).

Do you need it? That's for you to decide ;) As a student (an inference
made from your reference of the academic edition of Office) an
application that helps with your note taking seems like a good fit.

You may want to see if your school bookstore has OneNote available.
Otherwise you should be able to find it at any retailer that also sells
Office.

Thanks. I'll buy it online. Somehow I was hoping it was all a mistake
and that I would get a free upgrade :) . But I'll be glad to pay for
it. The preview release is impressive and I can see it getting much
better very quickly.

Thanks,

Tom S.

If I remember correctly, the rebate isn't valid when applied to systems with
the academic version of OneNote.

The rebate is only valid for the retail versions. Academic copies won't
qualify and since he needs to send proof of purchase, they'll know it's
academic. The rebate may also say it's not valid for more than the cost of
the software.

My outlook and exchange utility raffle has 3 NFR copies to give away to
lucky winners... feel free to take your chances. :)
