OneNote and Outlook 2003

I've been using OneNote, and I'm trying to decide if it's worth it to upgrade
to Outlook 2003 for the task/appointment creation feature in OneNote.

Here's the issue -- when I manually copy/paste OneNote text into the body of
an Outlook 2002(xp) task or appointment, it shows up in the task/appointment
as an image, which doesn't sync to my Pocket PC the way that text would.

Here's my question: does a OneNote note come into Outlook 2003
tasks/appointments as editable text, or as a snapshot image like it does in
2002?

Thanks!

Jeff,
Instead of using copy and paste to get your information from OneNote to
Outlook, try using Tools--> Create Outlook Item--> (pick the appropriate
item). See if you like those results better. (It still won't be linked, but
it will be editable text.)

Kathy,

Believe me, I would! But those buttons aren't active if you don't have
Outlook 2003, which I don't have at the moment. I'm trying to decide if that
functionality is worth upgrading.

So, when you create the tasks using the "Create Outlook Item" command, the
Outlook task is filled with the OneNote information as editable text? If so,
that answers my question.

Thanks!

Well, kind of. That was what I meant to be saying. If you have Outlook 2003,
you get the option to send notes to Outlook as tasks, etc. However, the
content doesn't automatically fill in the right fields. Instead, it goes
into the extra content area of the Outlook item and then you have to move it
around.

I do think the upgrade to Office 2003 is worth it for OneNote users. But
then again, I am probably biased on this one :) (I live in OneNote, Outlook,
and PPT. Big improvements in these three in O2003.)

don't upgrade just outlook if you decide to go that route - everything works
better if the versions are the same.

when you paste the content, are you pasting an object or plain text? if you
paste text, it should work - but you may have to convert it by pasting it
into notepad then copying it from notepad if paste special is not supported.
(I use Pure Text, a utility that resides in my tray area)
