OneNote and Pocket PC Integration

I would like to be able to make notes on my Pocket PC that has the same
functionality of the One Note Software... For instance a Section that syncs
through active sync and the Pocket PC would have all the Flags etc...

There is currently no version of OneNote for the windows Mobile platform.
The closest you can get is the OneNote SP1 feature that performs a one-time,
one-way sync of your Outlook Notes from your PDA to a dedicated section in
your OneNote hierarchy.

I am aware of SP1 Features and currently use SP1... However it seems to me
that the natural progression of the software should allow this... mainly
because the Pocket PC is very good for Note Taking and I would think that any
conversation / dialog that can be put in front of MS would help encourage
this....

I agree.

I'm sure that everyone here agrees that more integration between OneNote and
other platforms/applications would be beneficial for all
platforms/applications involved. It's just a matter of timing and resources.
I've heard MS folks talk publicly about this product and some of the things
they would have liked to put into the product. It was just a matter of
putting it *all* into V1 and shipping it in 2045 or putting in a reasonable
set of features and shipping it in 2003.

I have every confidence that MS will improve the integration in future
versions.

I agree about all the bits we'd love in the product meaning it would take
ages to be released. Having said that, I really want to be able to transfer
something from 1N to my PDA. It's OK to be able to do it the other way
around, but if I create, say, a shopping list, I want it on the PDA without
having to do copying and pasting using an intermediary product (like Outlook).

As has been said in other posts - PDAs are really useful for taking quick
notes (I use mine in place of my laptop) as it's less intrusive when in a
meeting (some people don't like key clicks and I can't afford to replace the
laptop with a tablet - yet!). Anyway, I like the size of my PDA - which is
also my cell phone.

Long story short - can we get PDA Notes integration with OneNote brought "up
the list" of new features? - please.

Lea,
If your PDA is a Pocket PC, the OneNote to Pocket PC integration is there
already - it was added with SP1. If you are using one of the other PDA's,
you will need to use a PowerToy or utility to do the send. Check them out
from this list of utilities:

Thanks for the info, Kathy, but it's not from PocketPC to OneNote I want (you
are right, that is in SP1), it's OneNote to PocketPC which, although I am
prepared - in fact would be happy - to stand corrected, is not available.
There's lots of stuff I have in OneNote already that I would like to drop to
my PocketPC.

You are right - I sit corrected. The "to the PDA" functionality is not
there.

Question: Do you have the ability to create PDF's? IF so, could you save
your notes as a PDF and send those to your PDA?

Thanks, again, Kathy. Yes, I can produce PDFs but it's easier to copy the
information into an Outlook Note which then syncs automatically with the
PocketPC. But it's faff value, or lack thereof, that I'm looking for. As
the current version of 1N has the ability to take from a PDA, hopefully the
next version of 1N will have the ability to push to a PDA(PocketPC).

Regards
Leanne
