OneNote and Vista desktop search (WDS?)

I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate and OneNote 2007 and my OneNote files just
don't seem to be searchable via the Vista desktop. I *can* open OneNote and
search just fine from within it, but it would be extremely helpful if I could
search from either location. I have gone into Vista's index options via the
control panel, and it appears that all One Note documents are being indexed
using the "File Properties Filter," which doesn't sound terribly promising.
Am I somehow missing a filter? It appears that other users are getting this
to work fine.

I've got the same problem, I just assumed it didn't work in 64 bit. The .one
files (and File Properties Filter) won't do you any good. OneNote installs
its own search namespace (like Outlook does) so the .one files themselves
wouldn't be indexed by Vista, instead Vista would load up OneNote's filter
and presumably scan the notebooks as sections and pages instead of as files.

You can see something similar when you see Outlook items in your search
results. Each item is in the same .pst file, so Outlook handles the job of
exposing this as a sort of file system to the indexer.
