OneNote and WSS 3.0

Can someone set my expectations for the type of integration and sharing I can
expect from "synchin" OneNote with WSS 3.0? Sceenshots?

My uinderstanding is that OneNote saves folders as documents and tabs within
a folder as?

What about files stored (saved to a OneNote page) in OneNote still
accessible through WSS? All file types assuming all sharing have an
application to view?

In the end I would like to see an example of a OneNote folder and the
resulting view in WSS. Thanks so much for your help.

Maybe thinking of it like this may help: WSS just holds an existing notebook
on the Sharepoint server instead of your local hard drive.

The big advantage is that the notebook is able to be easily with anyone who
can get to the server. In practical terms, the sharepoint server normally is
"on the internet," so you and your colleagues can get to it at all times.

I've been using a notebook with a friend on
http://enroll.freesharepoint.com/uddi/freesharepoint/ for about a year now.
(I'm not affiliated with that company). You may want to sign up for the free
trial to see how it works, and see if it meets your needs.

John:

Thank you for your reply. Firstly, our team members are all using OneNOte
to manage various functions for our business. We are in the process of
installing WSS 3.0 with the express purpose of sharing our OneNote files.

I understand the concept and have used WSS and SPS and understand how
ONeNote works. The question I have is how does the synchronization manifest
itself on WSS? What does it look like on the screen? How does it handle
files attahced to OneNote pages? etc.

Pictures speak --does anyone have a screenshot of OneNote folder and the
corresponding synch'ed WSS 3.0 page?

Thanks

Well, the screenshot from OneNote looks exactly the same as a local notebook,
except for a little green sync icon next to the notebook name to let you know
the notebook is not local.

And the screenshot from Sharepoint is going to be an equal letdown: it's
just a standard sharepoint view showing .ONE files.

To greatly simplify things, from the user point of view, OneNote works with
notebooks on sharepoint identically to local notebooks. Except for that
green sync icon, the functionality is the same.
