OneNote Audio recorder is terrible

The audio recorder should act like a standard tape recorder. Start, stop,
record, play and save. If I want 100 audio tracks on a page they should be
separate. when I click on a record, the recorder appears with that track
loaded. I click play and the tape starts, I click pause and the tape stops. I
can then click record and began recording over a section (this is edit) to
change it. I should be able to combine files by placing one in front of, in
the middle of or at the end of an existing file.

The most important thing howeveris that clicking on recorder should bring up
the recorder, not start recording. I want to click a record button. I also
want to click an end record button (save) and an exit button

Hi wcstuart,

Thanks for your suggestions. One thing that might address your primary
concern is to add the audio/video toolbar to your version of OneNote. Go to
Tools-->Customize-->Click the "Toolbars" tab-->Check Audio/Video Recording.
This will add the audio/video recording toolbar to your toolbars in OneNote.
The audio/video recording toolbar has play, stop, pause, and record buttons
very similar to an actual tape recorder.

Hope that helps,

Roan
