OneNote bug in dragged links with (percent)20 in local file name

Starting with a file such as A%20Name.pdf ("A{percent}20Name.pdf") on your
hard disk(as might occur when downloading a web file).

Drag the icon to make a link in OneNote.

The link might be of the form <file://T:\Example\A%20Name.pdf> (read as
<file://T:\Example\A{percent}20Name.pdf>). This link does not take you to the
original file.

Presumably the {percent}20 is read as per the html conventions for a space
in one direction but not the other thus losing the meaning of the file name.

I see what you mean. I recommend removing the %20 from your downloaded
files. Because this does confuse Onenote's hyperlink 'parser' (Is that a
proper word to use?) thinking the %20 is a space character, where if the
filename is "A%20b" onenote thinks it "A b".
try it with other % 'escape characters'
%21 = "!"
Onenote was not really designed to be a file linking system, nor should it
be used as such. To effectivly use onenote, I suggest using the Print to
Onenote powertoy, allowing you to print directly to onenote, so you can
annotate as needed.
