Onenote handwriting recognition toolbar modification feature

I was customizing my toolbars today, and I found a button labeled,
"Handwriting recogntion". This looked pretty interesting, so I tried to
attach it to my toolbar, but it did not want to stick. The same thing
happens with the "Selection tool" feature. I ran the "detect and repair"
thing, and it still does not work. Any suggestions? These sound like really
useful features.

I just tried and found the same result.

I don't think those toolbar buttons are linked to any real functions. They
may have been left over from an earlier version of the product. The
"Convert Handwriting to Text" and the "Type/Selection Tool" buttons should
work for what these functions probably are.
