OneNote: How do I manage tab settings?

Office OneNote: When using tabs (to create a table, for instance) text wraps
in inappropriate places. Extending tabs does not seem to help.

How does one manage tabs in OneNote? Why does this happen?

If the column is too narrow OneNote will wrap a word in the middle - there is
no automatic fit. You can manually resize the width of each column: hover
over the text in the table - a blue square handle shows to the left of the
text, right-click on the handle and choose to resize column. At this point
you can drag the handle to adjust column width to avoid wrapping.
