onenote ideas database...

i work for a medical design company and want to create a keyword searchable
database of sketches, video clips, images, photos, text, web clippings etc...

i will ask other onenote users in the design office to submit data that they
consider useful and apply keywords from a specific list, they then share the
onenote file to a network folder...

i thought it would be possible for anyone to use the search tool (if
directed to the network location) to search all the database with the same
keywords from the list...? however, it appears that they would have to
physically open each onenote file each time they want to do a search?? this
would be impractical because after time the database will become v.large...
any ideas??

thanks, alec

I think you need to get a SharePoint Server to do this. Just putting on
a networked folder does not work.

However, have you tried synchronizing that networked folder with a local
one within the My Notebook folder of your computer?

cheers Tim, i will try that at work tomorrow.

Sharing good design ideas at work is important, but you also need a "quick &
dirty" and intuitive way of capturing, storing and searching them because
everybody is so very busy these days!

hope i can get it to work...
