OneNote indexing issue

I have been using OneNote very successfully since it was first introduced -
including indexing/search. I was always able to find what I was looking for.
All of a sudden I have lost that capability (only showing 1% or less).
Searching from Vista Start/search still seems to find what I'm looking for.
The only thing I can think of as a change to my system was cleaning out C:\.
Is it possible I deleted OneNote index files? I have daily backups using
MS/HP Media Smart Home Server so I could retrieve files if I knew which ones
to restore.

Any thoughts?

If you're running on Vista, then there should only be one index - OneNote
and the integrated search should both use the WDS index. You're saying
that you get different search results when searching from within OneNote
than you get from the Search tools in Vista?

I would use the options within WDS to clear and rebuild the index, and then
try a search comparison again.

Erik,

Thanks for the response. I did re-index (it just took overnight and indexed
over 14,000 items). Not sure how it counts items, but everything seems to be
back and functional.

Thanks again.
