OneNote - language corrector

Gagarin

I use OneNote in French and I have set the default dictionnary to French.
However, my french text is continuously underlined in red, showing spelling
errors, while English text shows up correctly. It is as if the french text is
being corrected by the english dictionnary. Any solution ?

I used to have this with my German speaking OneNote. And it's gone ;-)

Does this appear for *new* pages too?

Did you set the language for your old things to French? [1]

Does spell-checking work OK in other Office applications?

[1] One can individually set the language for each *marked* part of Text
(f.e. with Ctrl+A or by selecting a container.
The standard way is Extras > Select language.
This is not practical at all as it opens the work pane and shows an
endless list of languages.

As I always change between German and English I had to find a different
way and I was successful.
The far better way is to place a language selection drop-down in the
toolbar.

Way to go:
a) In one of the toolbars with a down-arrow select "Add or remove
buttons", then "Customize";
b) in the dialog select the tabbed page "Commands";
c) in the left columns (Categories) scroll down to the end and select
"All commands"
d) on the right side scroll down to "Language" with the field (drop-down
listbox);
e) pick this command and drag it up to one of the toolbars

Thereafter one can easily select the language needed.

Caveat: the above mentioned terms are *my* translation, they way
slightly differ from the official English terminology.
