?? OneNote -- Missing Features ??

Hi all,

I've just started using OneNote and I'm very happy with the concept. I think
the tool has a lot of potential.

I was wondering a few things though, hoping someone might know the answers.

First, is it possible to password protect an entire notebook, not just a
section within a notebook?

Second? Can I change the background color of a "block of text". I'm not sure
of the terminology here -- when I say, "block of text" I'm referring to the
moveable (draggable) box that contains text on page. It seems the
background is always white.

Finally (and I know this is just a wish), it would be great if I could draw
lines/arrows/shapes and have these objects "anchor" to "blocks of text" or
other objects, as in Visio. This way, if I re-organize a page by dragging
blocks of text any objects attached to it remain attached as I drag. Of
course, this functionality does not yet exist.

Thanks.

You can only password-protect a section, and not an entire Notebook.
Doing so would make it difficult to maintain the ability to use Explorer
as a way to move sections around. If you are interested in protecting
more chunks of ON data, other Windows features such as NTFS permissions,
share permissions, SharePoint security, EFS, etc. are still available.

Those Note Containers (blocks of text) are not intended to be formatting
objects, like text boxes in Word or PowerPoint. Their background colors
cannot be changed.

You can use the Lasso tool to select and move Ink and text containers
together.
