OneNote needs a ruler

There's a ruler in Word that supports changing the tabs.. I'd like to see
this in OneNote as well. I can't do anything with tables or layout right
now, because I cannot set the tabs, and tables are not supported. I
"managed" a work-a-round, but it really is not that great. I used the "pen"
tool to draw the lines for the table.. and there's no straight-line tool,
either, so it looks really sloppy. I'm tempted to switch back to Word, but
it does not support the binder-layout, the flags, or the sorting that OneNote
has.

Not a bad idea, actually. You could, as a workaround, probably create a
stationery that has a ruler or perhaps a better table in it. Did you draw
your table using the mouse or a digitizer with a stylus/pen?

Hi Ben,

Actually I used the mouse to draw the lines... I'm thinking about purchasing
a digital pad sometime soon, just thinking though. As for the stationary
with a ruler or a table, I tried one with a table before (downloaded from the
Office website), but I couldn't get the text to line up with the background.
I never tried a ruler in the background. What I meant by a ruler is more of
a tab-stop setup, where I can specify the tab stops.

While I agree completely about needing an "internal" ruler, you can use a
plastic C-thru graphics ruler on the tablet screen. Your pen will sort of
skate along the edge, as if it were on a track.
