OneNote Not Loading At All

Hi Everyone:

Just today, for the very first time, when I tried loading/opening OneNote
2007, I got the following error message: "Microsoft Office OneNote has
encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
The information you were working on might be lost. Microsoft Office OneNote
can try to recoverit for you." Then there is a line of text next to an
(automatically selected) checkbox which says "Recover my work and restart
Microsoft Office OneNote".

However, when I click the 'Send Error Report' button, it goes through the
process of notifying Microsoft and attempting to start OneNote only to have
the same error message come up again. This is now the third time (today) that
I've had the same problem getting OneNote started.

Has anyone else else had this problem? Does anyone know of what might be
required to fix it?

Many thanks ...

Does the error reporting finish? Do you get some kind if confirmation
that the error report was successfully sent?

Do you know if the last time you had OneNote open without this error, if
all synchronization had completed? If so, you can probably recover your
work by renaming the ON cache file. Only do that if you are sure there
are no unsynced changes.

Hi Erik:

Thanks for taking the time to address my query.

Yes, the error reporting does goes through and yes I do get confirmation
that it was successfully sent.

As far as synchronization being complete, yes, it did fully synch with other
Microsoft products on my system without a problem before yesterday.

Now, what pray tell is the "ON Cache" and how does one go about renaming it?

Thanks again ...
