Onenote patch problem

I have a trial version of Onenote that I had installed on
my computer, I later uninstalled it but now would like to
re-install it.
The problem I have is that when the disc is booted I get
a box saying the 'Patch cannot be opened' etc.
On Microsofts website it says about new and old versions
but I don't really understand it.
Any Help would be much appreciated.

Can you give the exact error message?

If you have the trial version in your hands on a CD or something
downloaded before the end of July, then you should be able to reinstall
that.

After you get that seccessfully installed, download and install OneNote
Service Pack 1 from this website:
http://www.microsoft.com/office/onenote
