OneNote Power Tools

I downloaded the Send to OneNote from IE Power Tool and installed. It works
fine but the problem is the button on the toolbar doesn't have an icon on it
that indicates what it does. It just looks like a space until you mouseover
it and then it looks like a button but with nothing on it. Has anyone else
had this happen? What did you do about it?

Have you tried rebooting a couple times? Sometimes it is necessary for the
integration. Remember, too, PowerToys are unsupported add-ons, which means
they are what they are, and Microsoft doesn't back them.

Thanks for responding Chris. That didn't seem to help, but it's a very minor
problem really. I actually prefer to use the "Create Screen Clipping"
function from the OneNote icon in the ToolTray instead of capturing the whole
page, but I am such that the slight imperfection was worrisome to me and I
would rectify it if I could.

I know what you mean. My Outlook add-in didn't even show until the
third time I restarted Outlook. Guess where it isn't running any more.

You probably installed the powertoy to a directory other
than the default. If so, then your problem can be traced to
a bug/poor implementation in the installer.

Find the entry in the registry for the plugin under

HKEY_CURRENT_USER (or LOCAL_MACHINE)
Software
Microsoft
Internet Explorer
Extensions
{plugin's guid}

Fix the values for 'Icon' and 'HotIcon'. They are most
likely pointing to the wrong files.

After seeing your post I immediately ran regedit: sure enough, the default
directories were there, not the folder I installed into. Just wanted to
thank you for a neat fix to this annoyance.
