OneNote repeatedly tries to insert itself in startup - bad

I do not want OneNote automatically starting when I start my computer because
it needlessly takes up rescources. I start it when I want to use it. Every
time I go to options/edit/paste url and change it, OneNote tries to put
itself in the startup and I have to squash it with winpatrol. Very annoying.

And another thing very distressing about OneNote is that you cannot
underline a word or phrase and insert a hyperlink as you do in Word or Excel
with Ctrl+K.

Is it the full OneNote application which starts up with Windows or is it
the Task Bar/Notification Area icon? The latter doesn't take up many
resources. You should be able to get rid of it by right-clicking on the
icon and selecting "Remove OneNote Icon".

If the former, check all areas where applications get started from.
OneNote should not be inserting itself like that.
