Right click OneNote in the system tray.
Menu: Options-OneNote icon defaults.
Can you set it here?

You probably closed down the little program that sits in the system
tray that gives you this capability. To restore it:

Tools -> Options -> Other

and make sure the box is checked for the "Place OneNote icon in the
notification area of the taskbar" option.

If you look in your Task Manager, you'll see it as ONENOTEM.EXE in the
Processes list. If you don't see that program in Processes, you can't
use those extra functions, because that's the little component of
OneNote that makes all that possible.

Turning that option on in OneNote will also cause it to show up in
your Startup folder as the "OneNote 2007 Screen Clipper and Launcher"
program, so don't delete that.

Hope that helps.
