Onenote should allow text from stylus or tablet

OneNote should allow for the conversion of handwriting to text for all
platforms, not just the tablet pc. Example, Wacom, and others, makes a
tablet that you can plug into the USB port and write on. OneNote should be
able to treat this as text just like the tablet PC. Same concept, right?

Sounds nice, except on a Tablet PC OneNote uses the native digital
recognizers of the Tablet PC for Ink that are not available on a laptop or
desktop. It isn't the same concept because the Tablet Inking samples at
three to four times the rate of a mouse input (writing pad or mouse). The
emulation is poor in comparison.
