OneNote should have a selectable default Start Page

Alastair McDonald

It would be useful if OneNote had an option to set a "Start Page" which
OneNote opens up with every time the program starts. Currently it open the
last page you were one. If this option were selectable, the user could
decide if they wanted the last page, or a selected page, i.e. a Title page
for your collection of Notes, or somthing like a Company logo, or Project
Summary page.

While you can't force OneNote to open on a specific page, you can have it
open a specific file. From the OneNote help:
1.. On the Windows Start menu, click Run.
2.. Enter the path to OneNote, such as "C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Onenote.exe", or click Browse to locate it.
3.. At the end of the path, type a space, and then type one or more
startup switches.
For example, to paste the contents of the Clipboard onto a page in the
Side Notes section, type the following startup switches:

/"filename"
Opens a file, where filename is a fully qualified file name, including the
disk and folder path and .one file name extension.

There are other switches available as well.... Hope this helps!

Ok - let's put that down to a bad cut and paste job. I cut the extra line
from the copy below - that switch is not for opening a sidenote, it is for
opening a specific file. :)

Yes, you could do that and have it open to a special section that has only
one page in it -- the custom start page. That would effectively give what
he wants.
